Isuzu cars have been out of production for several years but there are plenty of them on the road. If you drive an Isuzu and need a spare key or have lost your last key, give us a call! In this instance there is no dealer to go to.
Isuzu and the Connections with other Brands
General Motors owned something around 34% of the Isuzu company according to wikipedia. Several Isuzu vehicles were actually rebadged GM vehicles. Some other vehicles were rebadged Honda vehicles.
1996 – 1999 Isuzu Oasis is a rebadged Honda Odyssey
1996 – 2000 Isuzu Hombre is a rebadged Chevrolet S10
2002 – 2008 Isuzu Ascender is a rebadged GMC Envoy
2006 – 2008 Isuzu I-280 is a rebadged Chevrolet Colorado / GMC Canyon
Isuzu Chip Keys
If you drive an Isuzu that uses transponder technology you might find it extremely difficult to get spare keys if you have lost your last one. Even getting a spare key made can be a giant hassle! These vehicles require a 4 digit pin number that diagnostic machines cannot get access to like newer vehicles do. So the technician either has to already know the number or they have to remove the immobilizer box from the vehicle and read it directly with an EEPROM reader.
Typically in these situations it’s good to clone keys like these BUT…. The chips inside these keys cannot be cloned. The Megamos Crypto (ID:48) chips are very secure. So no cloning is available at this time.
We can program in new keys to your 2003 – 2004 Axiom or Rodeo if you have lost your last one or if you simply need a spare. We can remove the Immobilizer and read the PIN necessary for programming.
