In late last year (2015) we upgraded our older credit card machine to a newer one that accepts EMV chip equipped credit and debit cards.  The U.S. banks are switching up the insides of our credit cards. They’re adding something called EMV technology, which stands for “Europay, MasterCard, and Visa.” Translation: Credit cards will be equipped with a super-small computer chip that’s extremely hard to counterfeit. If you’ve gotten a card recently, chances are it’s souped up with this technology.

Along with this new ability our new machine also accepts NFC (Near Field Communication) payments as well!  This means that you can now pay with your properly equipped and set up Android phone with Android Pay or your iPhone or Apple Watch equipped with Apple Pay. We tried this several times using our own devices and WE LOVE IT! Next time you come in, you can leave your wallet in your pocket and pay with your phone.
